- Experience in structural steel, reinforced and unreinforced concrete, and load-bearing and non-load-bearing masonry design.
- Recent experience with building codes and structural standards and regulations.
- Current experience with STAAD, RISA 3D, or RAM Elements.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- A valid driver's license.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio.
- Ability to maintain organization and proficient time management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people across different roles and backgrounds.
- Act as the engineer of record in responsible charge of structural projects, as required.
- Perform and oversee structural design and plan production.
- Work closely with and instruct staff engineers and computer-aided design technicians to prepare drawings and specifications in accordance with project requirements.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain client communications and expectations during project initiation, design, and construction phases.
- Coordinate with outside engineers and architects on project requirements.
- Review shop drawings and requests for information, and respond to other construction questions.
- Provide input and collaborate on implementation and improvement of company standards and procedures for continued improvement of project delivery and client experience.
- Engage in meetings with clients and technical organizations, as needed, to develop relationships and business opportunities in the local market.
- Ten or more years of experience in structural engineering.
- Experience with timber and/or light-frame construction design.
- Experience with Revit.
- Current experience with RAM Elements, which is preferred among STAAD, RISA 3D, and RAM Elements.
