Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • At least 1 year in a .6 FTE Emergency Department Technician I position at MUSC
  • Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or Certified Phlebotomy Technician
  • Experience in a military medical occupation
  • At least 1 year of inpatient hospital experience
  • A college degree
  • Active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution
  • Active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers) or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider; must be maintained
  • Physical ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, and walking; ability to climb stairs; ability to work indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes; ability to work from elevated areas; ability to work in confined or cramped spaces; ability to kneel, bend, twist, squat; ability to pinch, perform gross and fine motor movements; ability to reach overhead; ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders; ability to lift and carry 50 pounds unassisted; ability to lift or lower objects up to 50 pounds from floor to 36 inches; ability to lift from 36 inches to overhead 25 pounds; ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; visual acuity and color perception; peripheral vision; hearing acuity; ability to work rotating shifts; ability to work overtime as required; ability to work in a latex safe environment; maintain tactile sensory functions; ability to be physically qualified for respirator use; (selected positions) olfactory sensory function
