Compensation Overview

As a key member of Penumbra’s growing and hardworking Finance team, the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accounts payables ledgers, month-end close, high-level suppliers and managing supplier payment processes to ensure compliance with company policy.

• Collaborate directly with vendors, identify and resolve exceptions with appropriate stakeholders. Includes the use of effective communication with internal and external individuals in various departments.

• Manage supplier payment process and ensure compliance with the Company’s expenditure policies.

• Apply sales and use tax concepts to ensure accuracy, making appropriate adjustments

• Assist A/P Manager with maintaining accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and corporate accounts payable files.

• Assess current processes and recommend improvements

• Manage supplier 1099 annual reporting

• Prepare monthly general ledger close, including the preparation of monthly reconciliations, and monthly journal entries

• Train other A/P Specialist with processes and procedures

• Assist in managing A/P staff and shifting priorities to accomplish deadlines

• Support quarterly and year-end PBC audits.

• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

• An Associate’s degree in business, accounting, or related field with 6+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industry experience desired

• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize assignments while handling various projects simultaneously

General office environment. Willingness and ability to work on site. Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Requires some lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds. Must be able to move between buildings and floors. Must be able to remain stationary and use a computer or other standard office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine, for an extensive period of time each day. Must be able to read, prepare emails, and produce documents and spreadsheets. Must be able to move within the office and access file cabinets or supplies, as needed. Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with employees at all levels on a daily basis.

Individual compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
