Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an electrical engineer is required.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of electrical control and power system design and its application in automated systems is required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Ability to coordinate projects between departments and plan a flow of tasks from beginning to end is required.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visual Basic, programmable logic controller programming using Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000 or a similar system, AutoCAD, Ethernet networking, supervisory control and data acquisition systems, and human-machine interface systems is required.
Responsibilities
  • Apply electrical engineering principles and practices to create solutions for recycling various materials.
  • Design electrical and software systems, including manufacturing automation and safety systems, while maintaining project scope, schedules, and budgets and preventing project creep.
  • Support specifying, manufacturing, and validating systems that include hydraulics, pneumatics, servos, motor drives, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, digital and analog input/output, and robotics.
  • Create programming diagrams, network diagrams, and electrical drawings with the Industrial Process Engineer, including creating or updating procedures and best practices.
  • Specify, install, and maintain data acquisition, monitoring, and reporting solutions.
  • Lead continuous-improvement projects, communicate and provide training across the organization, troubleshoot issues, optimize recycled-product processing, and identify lower-cost or faster solutions for projects and maintenance parts.
  • Provide technical support and training to Maintenance and Production as needed.
  • Act as an advisory liaison between Maintenance and Information Technology to solve issues as they arise.
  • Bring extensive repairs to the engineering team for review, discussion, and decision.

  • Leadership experience demonstrating the ability to drive projects forward is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL and database management is an added plus.

Wieland has acquired Techni-Cast LLC, a South Gate, California-based centrifugal-casting foundry. Founded in 1954, the family-owned company operates two production sites with around 100 employees and holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AS9100 certifications for aerospace suppliers. Techni-Cast offers melting, centrifugal casting, heat treatment and precision machining services. The company's equipment includes CNC machines for tight-tolerance machining and conventional lathes for deburring, enabling delivery of fully processed components for critical applications in demanding markets. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
