Teero runs a free platform that connects dental offices with dental hygienists for flexible, on-demand and permanent staffing. Hygienists are treated as W-2 employees, with Teero handling employer taxes, workers’ compensation, and malpractice insurance for every shift, and the platform also offers remote billing and insurance verification to cut administrative work. The service targets the dental industry’s staffing shortage with a nationwide network of offices and hygienists, built on the founders’ experience running digital marketplaces. Its goal is to make it easier for practices to fill shifts and for hygienists to access flexible work opportunities while reducing administrative overhead.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Teero serves over 5,000 dental offices across all 50 states.[2]
  • Day-after direct deposit should improve hygienist retention and shift fill rates.[3]
  • Cross-selling back-office services can raise account value beyond temporary staffing.[2]

What critics are saying

  • W-2 classification creates regulatory and payroll liability exposure across states.[1][2]
  • Low local supply leaves open shifts unfilled and damages office trust.[3][5]
  • Pricing pressure rises if offices compare total costs against direct hiring alternatives.[6]

What makes Teero unique

  • Teero uses a W-2 model for hygienists, not contractor staffing.[1][2]
  • The platform offers shift filters by pay, distance, and day of week.[3]
  • Teero expands beyond staffing into remote billing and insurance verification.[2]
