Requirements
  • At least 7 years of progressive business intelligence experience with increasing technical scope and leadership.
  • Demonstrated excellence in data visualization design, including visual hierarchy, color theory, chart selection, executive dashboard design, and accessibility standards.

Responsibilities
  • Own the team-wide data visualization framework, including visual hierarchy standards, typography guidelines, color governance, chart selection criteria, and audience-appropriate design patterns.
  • Design the team's most complex executive dashboards, including KPI frameworks, narrative-driven layouts, and multi-page analytical experiences.
  • Conduct visual design reviews alongside technical code reviews to ensure dashboards meet analytical and visual quality standards.
  • Champion accessibility standards, including WCAG contrast compliance, colorblind-safe palettes, and screen-reader-compatible formatting.
  • Govern the Databricks SQL Warehouse strategy, including compute configurations, query optimization standards, and BI-optimized access patterns.
  • Architect Power BI Direct Lake connectivity to Databricks and establish reusable integration patterns across SQL Warehouses and Fabric Lakehouse.
  • Lead the team's engagement with medallion architecture by defining Gold-layer consumption patterns and shaping Silver-to-Gold transformation requirements with Data Engineering.
  • Own Databricks Unity Catalog governance, including access control, lineage, tagging, and certified data product management.
  • Write and review PySpark and Databricks SQL for complex transformations and aggregations feeding the visualization reporting layer.
  • Lead the team's AI strategy, governing Power BI Copilot, Databricks Genie/LakehouseIQ, Fabric AI, Azure OpenAI, and visual design standards for AI-generated outputs.
  • Set Power BI architecture standards for composite models, shared semantic models, row-level security, deployment pipeline governance, and custom visual approval.
  • Mentor all team members on technical, visualization, and AI tooling through code reviews, design critiques, and structured skill-building sessions.
  • Present the BI roadmap, visualization strategy, Databricks platform decisions, and AI adoption progress independently to vice president- and assistant vice president-level leadership.
Desired Qualifications
  • Production-level Python/PySpark use for transformations, automation, and AI/ML pipeline integration.
  • Experience building or owning a team-wide visualization design system, including chart standards, color governance, accessibility rules, and design review processes.

Royal Caribbean completes $1.25B bond offering to refinance debt

Royal Caribbean Group has completed a registered public offering of $1.25 billion in senior unsecured notes due 2034. The notes, which carry a 5.550% interest rate, will mature on 20 January 2034 unless redeemed earlier. The cruise operator plans to use the net proceeds primarily to repay part of its outstanding floating rate term loan facilities. Any remaining funds will go towards repaying or refinancing other existing debt. BNP Paribas Securities Corp., BofA Securities, Inc., and Citigroup Global Markets Inc. served as lead book-running managers for the offering. The notes were sold pursuant to an automatic shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on 29 February 2024. Royal Caribbean Group operates 71 ships across three wholly owned brands.
