Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field is required.
  • A Professional Engineer license is required.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience is required for the Project Engineer level, while the Senior Project Engineer level requires 10 or more years of diversified experience.
  • Experience with water, wastewater, stormwater, and municipal or public utility projects is required.
  • A strong understanding of regulatory requirements, engineering standards, and infrastructure best practices is required.
  • The ability to handle increasing technical complexity and project responsibility is required.
Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects, including distribution systems, pumping stations, treatment facilities, green infrastructure, and utility relocations.
  • Prepare and review design drawings, specifications, calculations, permitting documents, and construction exhibits.
  • Perform engineering calculations, technical evaluations, and product research, with complexity increasing with experience.
  • Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to ensure compliant, constructible designs.
  • Identify design challenges and develop practical, efficient, and innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on technical execution, planning, and problem-solving.
  • Support construction administration through requests for information, submittals, site visits, and field reports.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external partners for project delivery.
  • Contribute to quality assurance through review of engineering documents and deliverables.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, with this being a senior-level expectation and a developing skill at the Project Engineer level.
  • Serve as the firm's technical representative at required project meetings, presentations, and public hearings.
  • Travel occasionally to project sites and client meetings.
  • Perform occasional site assessments, field measurements, and construction observation.
