  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in data center engineering
  • Proven track record of successfully completing data center design projects
  • Strong knowledge of data center cooling systems, such as air cooled chiller plants, water cooled chiller plants, liquid cooling, make-up air/exhaust and redundant piping
  • Familiarity with Building Management/Automation Systems with the ability to develop controls sequences and monitoring protocols
  • Experience with large-scale, high-density data centers and cloud infrastructure
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage mechanical engineering initiatives for our data centers
  • Oversee the design of mechanical systems for our new data center facilities
  • Develop and implement mechanical engineering standards, processes, and best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, and project management to ensure complete and cohesive coordination of our mechanical data center infrastructure
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, regulations, and safety protocols
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance mechanical performance, reliability, and efficiency
  • Collaborate on budgets, schedules, and resources for engineering projects
  • Assist with identifying areas for improvement on processes and procedures of mechanical design and implementation of corrective actions
  • Work closely with 3rd party consultants and vendors to ensure compliance with Basis of Design and Company Standards
  • Review Design Drawings, Specifications and Shop Drawings submitted for owner’s review
  • Actively participate in a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the team
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering license preferred
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Uptime Institute, BICSI, or similar) are a plus
