Zoox is looking for a software engineer to help us build state-of-the-art mapping pipelines that combine data from a wide variety of sensors as well as localization algorithms that make use of these maps in real time. We’re looking for an engineer with an advanced degree and experience building mapping and localization systems that work with real data in uncertain environments.
Qualifications
- Fluency in C / C++
- Experience with pose estimation, SLAM, probabilistic filtering, and 3D data
- Extensive experience with programming and algorithm design
- Experience handling large data sets efficiently
- Strong mathematical skills
- 8+ years of experience in a related field
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with autonomous robots
- Experience with realtime sensor fusion (e.g. IMU, LiDAR, camera, odometry, radar)
- Knowledge of computer vision techniques and machine learning
- Strong understanding of ROS
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary will range from $220,000 to $319,000. A sign-on bonus may be part of a compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Vaccine Mandate
Employees working in this position will be required to have received a single dose of the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine OR have completed the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series. In addition, employees will be required to receive a COVID-19 booster vaccine within two months of becoming eligible for the booster vaccine.
