Golin is looking for an Associate, Analytics to join our Los Angeles office. This is an amazing opportunity for those who love data and analytics, problem-solving, helping make strategic recommendations, and working on campaigns that will have an immediate impact for our client and Golin.
You are part analyst, part creative problem solver. This role will be a true hybrid, a mix of traditional and digital analytics, helping provide data driven insights and telling stories with data, synthesizing findings from various sources.
This role will support reporting, learning how to connect the dots between insights and trends, then using those findings to help make strategic recommendations for Golin clients.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for data and analytics, wants to learn how to dig into the details and deliver data driven insights, who has some experience in earned, traditional, and social media, and is a strong communicator and collaborator.

What You’ll Do:
- Help to optimize programs through measurement and analysis to support client objectives, focusing on analytics implementation, customization, and automation of data collection processes.
- Support creating eye-catching visualizations, to tell a story that converts data into actionable insights.
- Use web and social analytics platforms to measure campaign success and provide data-backed recommendations for optimization.
- Analyze media coverage for trends and patterns that inform recommended actions.
- Communicate to account teams on project developments, timelines, and results; manage multiple projects concurrently toward successful completion, including ongoing core workstreams and ad-hoc, quick-turn needs.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in and understanding of social media metrics and trends.
- Help uncover strategic findings and insights using a range of digital analytics techniques, such as social listening, to help support business objectives, advance storytelling, and drive engagements.
- Work closely with team to compile, synthesize and analyze data sets.
- Support report creation, building presentations to clients.
- Understand client background and needs, including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers, and competitors in the marketplace.
- Understand social channels and identify emerging opportunities.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree, with some coursework in marketing analysis, public relations, statistics and/or social science ideal.
- 1 year of experience in an analytics function, within the advertising/marketing/PR/digital media industry preferred but not necessary.
- Proficiency in Excel, including organizing and maintaining databases, using formulas, and developing charts and tables.
- Some experience working with data visualization tools. Creating Pivot Tables and conducting Boolean searches is necessary.
- Understanding of the media landscape, including principles of communications, digital marketing, and earned media.
- Some experience with analysis of large data sets, data mining, working with and creating databases and dashboards utilizing all relevant data to inform decisions.
- Strong analytical skills with a general understanding of statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations.
- Experience using social analytics platforms such as Sprinklr, Talkwalker, Brandwatch, and/or similar analytics tools; comfortable learning new systems and tools.
- Understanding of data trends and the ability to investigate and articulate factors that may account for these trends.
- Proactive, adaptive, collaborator, who can help execute projects in support of the team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills can collaborate across teams, with solid project management and process experience.
- Motivated, eager to learn, with the ability to set expectations, share status updates, and flag any potential issues.
- Time management, prioritization skills, with the ability to juggle multiple deliverables and timelines at once in a fast-paced environment.
- Process driven, with strong presentation and writing skills.

Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000
Golin has included the base salary range or hourly rate for this role. Actual compensation offered within the range will depend upon, among other factors: a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience; actual ranges for current or former employees in the role; and market considerations.
