Requirements
  • Strong C++ and Python; has written performance-critical code for a constrained target (DSP, NPU, GPU, or embedded SoC).
  • Systems-level performance intuition — memory bandwidth, data movement, cycle-level reasoning — and can read a profile and know where the time went.
  • High agency and independent problem-solving; methodical and empirical rather than theoretical.
  • Comfortable operating without a playbook and in ambiguity — this role is still being defined.
Responsibilities
  • Convert 2–3 active customer evaluations into committed design wins by getting customer workloads running at target latency and accuracy on Chimera.
  • Port customer workloads onto Chimera — architect, adapt, profile, and write custom kernels when required.
  • Work on-site and remotely with customer engineering teams: debug failures, hit benchmark targets, and guide model-architecture tradeoffs.
  • Drive evaluations forward end-to-end, from first technical conversation through design win.
  • Codify what you learn into reusable assets — SDK skills, porting playbooks, and agentic content — so each subsequent engagement moves faster than the last.
  • Build applications and benchmark collateral that support future customer engagements.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to relay customer learnings and shape the roadmap.
  • Contribute skills and playbooks to Quadric's growing agentic FDE toolset.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior FAE, Sales Engineering, or FDE title — or startup experience as the de facto owner of an end-to-end implementation.
  • Familiarity with agentic dev tooling (Claude Code, MCP) — or strong enthusiasm to adopt it.
  • Background at NPU/edge-AI IP and silicon companies (e.g., Qualcomm SNPE/QNN, NVIDIA TensorRT/Jetson field engineering, Ceva, Cadence Tensilica, Synopsys ARC, Arm, Hailo, Ambarella, SiMa.ai, Axelera, EdgeCortix).
  • Background at inference-focused startups (e.g., Groq, Untether, Tenstorrent) in field/customer engineering or kernel teams.
  • FDE experience — candidates with embedded or ML-systems backgrounds.
  • Experience at technical trading arms optimizing kernels or hardware for speed
  • Big-firm consulting background, provided the candidate personally did the hands-on technical work rather than managing it.

Quadric.io builds an integrated hardware-software stack for ML on System-on-Chips, centered on its Chimera GPNPU. It combines matrix and vector compute with scalar control code in a single execution pipeline, removing the need to split code across different processors. It sells Chimera hardware and licenses tools like the Chimera LLVM C Compiler, Chimera Instruction Set Simulator, and a Software Development Kit to design, simulate, profile, and deploy ML workloads written in C. Its goal is to simplify and speed up the design of ML-enabled SoCs for semiconductor developers and manufacturers, delivering faster time-to-market and better ML performance through a tightly integrated stack.

Simplify Jobs

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Product revenues tripled in 2025, reaching profitability before raising $90M total with IFC-backed Series C.
  • Design wins with Tier IV for autonomous driving and an Asia edge LLM customer accelerate automotive and enterprise adoption.
  • Chimera now supports Llama2 and Vision Transformers, enabling on-device LLM inference without re-siliconing.

What critics are saying

  • Kyocera and Denso represent 60%+ of 2025 licensing revenue; one exit triggers existential cash shortfall due to thin margins.
  • Qualcomm's Snapdragon AI Stack now rivals Chimera's programmability, enabling end-to-end AI SoCs without external IP in 6–12 months.
  • Nvidia's edge AI IP licensing threatens Quadric's model by eliminating third-party GPNPU core needs within 12–18 months.

What makes Quadric unique

  • Quadric's Chimera GPNPU unifies AI inference, DSP, and scalar control in one execution pipeline.
  • Chimera is the only fully C++ programmable NPU IP running AI and classic algorithms on a unified core.
  • New AI models deploy via software updates alone, eliminating costly silicon redesigns for fixed-function NPUs.

Quadric raises $30M Series C as on-device AI chip revenues triple and edge LLM design wins accelerate

Quadric, a provider of AI inference processor IP for on-device chips, has raised $30 million in an oversubscribed Series C round led by ACCELERATE Fund, bringing total funding to $72 million. Uncork Capital and Pear VC participated, alongside new investors including Volta and Wanxiang America. The company's product revenues more than tripled in 2025, driven by adoption of its Chimera processor IP across edge large language models, automotive and enterprise vision applications. Unlike fixed-function neural processing units, Chimera is fully programmable and can run any AI model on a unified architecture, scaling from 1 to 864 tera operations per second. Quadric recently secured two new licence agreements, including with Japan's Tier IV for autonomous driving applications. The funding will support customer success initiatives and product development.
