Join our Agency Development department as an Insurance Operations Intern to gain valuable insights into carrier operations and agency management best practices. This paid summer internship offers a 360° view of the industry in a flexible work environment, making it the perfect opportunity to explore various potential career paths and determine where your passion lies while supporting our branch sales teams.
While we prefer candidates who can work from EMC’s Corporate Office in Des Moines, we will also consider strong applicants located within 50 miles of an EMC Branch Office. EMC Branch Locations
Assistin project analysis and gather necessary data to compile information into a comprehensive report
Conduct insurance marketing and product research
Learn EMC’s culture, business processes, products and services
Gain an understanding of the agency development’s role in supporting branch operations
Business major, preferably in insurance, marketing, or finance
Completion of junior year preferred
Interest in a property and casualty insurance career
Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical abilities
Exceptional organizational skills
Sound decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Suite products (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.)
