Requirements
  • A Professional Engineer license or three years’ post-graduation professional experience with the ability to obtain licensure within the next year
  • A good understanding of residential, commercial, or institutional building design and construction
  • Knowledge of standards of the engineering industry including building codes as well as knowledge of building enclosure design principles
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines while remaining detail and quality focused
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information and build rapport with clients, contractors, sub-contractors and other stakeholders
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, BlueBeam Revu, and knowledge of finite element or other commonly used design and analysis tools
  • A working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is desirable
  • Degree from an ABET accredited university in the field of civil, structural, or architectural engineering
Responsibilities
  • Perform field inspections, required site visits and conduct site investigation activities in conjunction with other professionals on staff
  • Review background documentation to determine original construction detailing and identify areas of risk (i.e., water penetration, air leakage, condensation, etc.)
  • Assess and provide opinions and recommendations relating to structural and civil engineering failures including associated building enclosures where applicable
  • Develop engineering reports detailing opinions based on sound technical knowledge supported by industry best practice, building codes and regulations
  • Develop repair designs and undertake quality assurance observations during the implementation of repairs as requested by the client
  • Use excellent communication skills to ensure deadlines and cost targets are met
  • Provide technical advice to clients including attorneys, property owners, contractors, and insurers
  • Collaborate with other team members to produce effective engineering deliverables
Desired Qualifications
