Requirements
  • A Professional Engineer license or three years of post-graduation professional experience with the ability to obtain licensure within the next year.
  • Knowledge of engineering industry standards, including building codes and building enclosure design principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines while remaining detail- and quality-focused.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information and build rapport with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • A degree from an ABET-accredited university in civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
Responsibilities
  • Perform field inspections, required site visits, and site investigation activities with other professionals on staff.
  • Review background documentation to determine original construction detailing and identify areas of risk, including water penetration, air leakage, and condensation.
  • Assess and provide opinions and recommendations relating to structural and civil engineering failures, including associated building enclosures where applicable.
  • Develop engineering reports detailing opinions based on technical knowledge, industry best practices, building codes, and regulations.
  • Develop repair designs and undertake quality assurance observations during repair implementation as requested by the client.
  • Use communication skills to ensure deadlines and cost targets are met.
  • Provide technical advice to attorneys, property owners, contractors, and insurers.
  • Collaborate with team members to produce effective engineering deliverables.
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Knowledge of finite element or other commonly used design and analysis tools.
  • Understanding of residential, commercial, or institutional building design and construction.
