Digital NEST builds and runs sustainable, scalable technology-learning centers focused on empowering Latinx youth to close gaps in economic opportunity. It offers programs that develop technical and soft skills, plus mentorship and networking, helping teens and young adults enter technology careers. The centers operate by delivering structured curricula, hands-on projects, and employer connections, with revenue coming from grants, donations, and corporate partnerships that value a diverse and skilled workforce. Unlike others, Digital NEST concentrates on underrepresented Latinx communities and actively sources jobs in tech sectors such as video production, graphic design, marketing, and IT development to create a clear path from learning to employment. How our associates rebuilt the Digital NEST website from the ground up.

How its associates rebuilt the Digital NEST website from the ground up. Monica Villanueva Today, Digital NEST Inc. is launching a new website. DigitalNEST.org serves as a virtual front door for prospective youth members and supporters who want to make an impact. Why Digital NEST Inc. needed a change. The former website was 11 years old and showing its age. The theme was outdated, and years of patches and band-aid fixes had negatively impacted performance. It created roadblocks for the community Digital NEST Inc. serve. New youth members couldn't figure out which programs Digital NEST Inc. offered or how to sign up. Donors and supporters felt confused about what Digital NEST Inc. do or how to get involved. As Digital NEST enters into its 12th year of service, Digital NEST Inc. need a website that matches its vision, making it easy and clear for everyone to step into the NEST. Rebuilt by BizzNEST. Its new website is more than a digital upgrade; it's a celebration of youth leadership and innovation. From the member-designed brand guidelines and custom studio photography featuring its youth to the layout, design, and development of the website itself, its members can be found in every details. Guided by the talent of its youth design and development associates, this project proves what is possible when young innovators are given the tools and trust to build the future from the ground up. Tackling a project like this challenged its BizzNEST associates to believe in themselves and learn by doing: * Michelle designed the look of the site: "I am much more confident now. I know exactly how to take big ideas and turn them into neat, organized designs." * Maggie mastered smart shortcuts: "When you are working on a dozen different web pages, you have to use smart shortcuts. I learned how to build interactive pieces that copy themselves perfectly across the whole site, which saved us a ton of time." * Joel learned how to make pages fit any screen: "I learned how to quickly build professional websites that work great on cell phones. Now, I feel confident that I can build any website." These young creators were joined by BizzNEST team members Andrea, Lizette, Jared, Luciano, Jacqueline, Joseph, Ian, Andre, and Mitchell on this project. Tour its new website. Its BizzNEST design and development team built this site to be incredibly intuitive, visually striking, and completely responsive. Want a sneak peek before you dive into the full experience? Here is a quick guide to the coolest new features you should keep an eye out for when you take your tour * The new "Visit Us" page: We grouped all our centers into clickable, drop-down tabs. You can find contact info instantly without digging through a wall of text. * Our 10+ year timeline: Instead of reading a long essay, you can just scroll through a simple timeline of our history and biggest wins. * Sleek homepage animations: We added some subtle motion when you first open the site. It's a small detail, but it really makes the whole thing feel alive and polished. * Completely custom code: Our dev team built the homepage from scratch rather than using a basic template. It was a fun challenge for them, and it means our site is truly one-of-a-kind. * Vibrant photos of real members: The site is packed with high-quality pictures and bright colors that actually show off our youth, our communities, and our energy. * Our official website footer: "Crafted, designed, and developed by BizzNEST Associates (C) 2025." This small but meaningful detail can be found at the very bottom of its site, proudly stamping its youth's hard work on the final product. Empowering tomorrow's innovators Today. Every day, its 5 NEST centers welcome young people with the tools, mentors, and real client projects they need to succeed professionally. Because of your support, its centers stay open and provide the resources needed to launch wealth-building careers, such as working for major tech companies. When you support this work, you help young tech leaders build a future. Want to be part of the impact? Visit its new website and become a GEM (Give Every Month) supporter. Your monthly gift helps young innovators thrive in communities across California.

Seeds of confidence: Rodrigo's story.

Seeds of confidence: Rodrigo's story. "I gained confidence about starting my own hot sauce company." New this fall: Tech Studios. This last fall, Digital NEST Inc. launched its new Tech Studios - project-based, drop-in classes exploring emerging technologies like robotics, coding, and digital content creation. For example, its Content Creators Studio offers practical training in video editing and visual design, which translates directly to careers in marketing, social media, and brand development. Tech studios spark curiosity while fostering foundational skills like problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking. No prior tech experience is required. Growth and community in action. Rodrigo became a regular at the Modesto NEST shortly after signing up as a member earlier this fall. Through consistent engagement in the Content Creators and Digital Arts studios, not only has he produced his own videos, but he also designed a hot sauce label. His confidence was on full display as he imagined an elevator pitch for his creation: "Zesty, but NESTy." Moreover, Rodrigo has become more open, curious, and willing to embrace new challenges. He has strengthened his time management and communication skills, and takes ownership of his work. His transformation even inspired his older brother to join. Their story illustrates the powerful ripple effect of accessible, youth-centered learning: when one young person is empowered to grow and thrive, they often open doors for their peers, siblings, and the wider community.* Rooted in success: help local leaders thrive. At Digital NEST, Digital NEST Inc. believe confidence is the most important thing Digital NEST Inc. grow. It starts as a small seed - a single video edit or a hot sauce label - and quickly spreads, inspiring siblings, friends, and the entire community. This spring, Digital NEST Inc. invite you to help Digital NEST Inc. support the next group of local leaders. Your gift provides the tools and guidance that allow students like Rodrigo to turn "zesty" ideas into real careers. *A version of this article originally appeared in the December 2025 issue of the Modesto Chamber of Commerce Progress Magazine. Gabriela is an Outreach Coordinator at Digital NEST who is all about creating spaces where young people feel truly seen and inspired to grow. Rooted in the belief that the right support can change everything, she loves building genuine connections and designing experiences that make learning feel accessible and impactful. When she isn't cheering on student success stories, you'll find this proud tía of six hanging out with her family and friends. She's a fan of creative expression, solitude and is currently counting down the days until she officially becomes a "fur mom".

Introducing ai.bizznest.org.

Introducing ai.bizznest.org. A new AI Learning Hub for its communities. It's National AI Literacy Day, and Digital NEST Inc. is pulling back the curtain on an exciting new resource for the Digital NEST community: ai.bizznest.org. This digital repository bridges the AI literacy gap for local nonprofits, small businesses, and neighbors by providing the practical skills needed to navigate a world shaped by AI. Built by "super users" in BizzNEST. Its BizzNEST software development associates conceptualized and built ai.bizznest.org from the ground up. These young professionals are "super users" who integrate AI into their daily workflows to architect software and solve real-world technical challenges. In the tech industry, entry-level software engineers are often relegated to fixing minor bugs. At BizzNEST, its associates handle high-level tasks like strategic planning, system design, and architecture. These responsibilities typically require years of experience, but its team uses AI to sharpen their research and logic. Fostering Leadership and Local Representation Ai.bizznest.org is the result of BizzNEST-led workshops at Modesto Junior College (alongside OpenAI) and the Community Foundation of Monterey County. During those sessions, the team noticed that while slides are helpful, people learn best by actually using the tools. "AI is advancing rapidly, and we wanted to create a platform that offers a clear path toward deeper understanding," said Ian, senior software development associate at BizzNEST. "This site is designed as a practical toolkit that helps our community explore both the real benefits and risks, while building strong, intentional AI skills. More importantly, it gives people the foundation they need to keep learning, adapting, and evolving alongside the technology as it continues to grow." Its AI Learning Hub acts as that sandbox, offering features that allow users to apply concepts immediately: * The Prompt Studio: A specialized environment to refine "prompt engineering" skills without the need for a premium account. * AI Recipes: A library of "copy-and-paste" templates to help automate repetitive tasks, such as social media management or data organization. * The Quick Guide: A streamlined breakdown of AI fundamentals for those building a knowledge base from scratch. * Workshop Archives: Access to the professional slides and resources used in past community training sessions. A "Sandbox" for Hands-on Learning Beyond the technical code, this project serves as a cornerstone for professional growth. Developing these resources and leading public workshops has accelerated the career readiness of the associates involved. "I've seen more professional growth in the team through these workshops than almost anything else," said Alex Rodriguez, director of software development and design, overseeing the BizzNEST team. "They are learning to present, to lead, and to advocate for their community." This initiative is part of its org-wide AI strategy, ensuring that underrepresented communities aren't left out of the global AI conversation. By putting local youth in leadership roles, Digital NEST Inc. is ensuring that the people building and teaching this technology reflect its communities. Book a Live Workshop BizzNEST associates are hosting workshops to bring AI literacy directly to any organization. They offer hands-on training sessions tailored to help staff and community members build practical AI skills that make a real difference.
