Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited high school/GED Program.
  • Five (5) years of work related experience or 75 hours from an accredited college or university or combination of the two.
  • Skilled in the use of standard software applications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public.
  • Must acquire 40-hour HAZWOPER certification within six months of employment.
  • Mandatory Hazmat physical required during first two weeks of employment and annually thereafter.
  • Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking and ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., unassisted.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and schedules administrative activities to support the HHW program; interacts with vendors, other County departments and participating cities on such matters as maintenance, event coordination, provision of services, purchasing and finance.
  • Prepares and processes requisitions, work orders, deposits, and requests for payments; monitors expenditures and incoming payments from participating cities.
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes information from various sources on a variety of specialized topics related to the program; assists with the preparation and dissemination of reports.
  • Develops, coordinates, and maintains record keeping, filing systems, and program databases; assists in compiling and analyzing data for the generation of reports.
  • Maintains confidential files, processes mail and answers telephone calls, greets and directs visitors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
