Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Successful completion of an internal welding test is required.
- One year of experience in various forms of welding is required.
- Proficiency in assigned welding techniques is required.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology, is required.
- Knowledge of wire and filler material applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials is required.
- Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters, including amperage and voltage, is required.
- Ability to use conventional and precision measuring instruments is required.
- Ability to perform process inspection, certification, and documentation is required.
- Ability to maintain welding equipment is required.
- Ability to perform finish grinding using manual and power tools is required.
- Hearing and eye protection are required in the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture products according to customer drawings, specifications, or other instructions.
- Perform process inspection, certification, and documentation.
- Maintain welding equipment.
- Perform finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
- Follow safety and housekeeping procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.
