Requirements
  • Three to five years of similar or related experience in a credit union or banking environment.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills involving decimals, percentages, and fractions.
  • Strong leadership, compliance, sales, business development, organizational planning, and communication skills.
  • Strong skills using personal computers, personal finance software, mobile applications, and virtual meeting and communication platforms.
  • Pennsylvania residency is required.
  • A cable modem or fiber internet connection with minimum service speed of 10M download and 2M upload and less than 1% packet loss is required for approval to work from home.
  • Ability to communicate with members in person and by telephone.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Ability to perform repetitive finger movements for typing and work with paper and electronic files and documents.
  • Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, view a computer screen, and read and assess work quality.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor branch operating results against established objectives and take corrective action when conditions are unsatisfactory.
  • Provide deposit services information and recommend products that meet members' needs.
  • Manage the lending function for the branch, including interviewing applicants, determining collateral needs and payment plans, reviewing, processing, closing loan applications, and disbursing funds.
  • Hire, review, schedule, train, and monitor branch personnel; conduct performance reviews and allocate resources to meet operational needs.
  • Maintain communications with the main office and management, prepare and submit standard reports, and attend management meetings.
  • Represent the branch and credit union in relationships with members, sponsor organizations, suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups.
  • Monitor branch activities for compliance with credit union policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Evaluate branch efficiency and develop recommendations for improvements to personnel, facilities, products, pricing, policies, and processes.
  • Maintain branch operating and growth plans and achieve budgeted branch goals.
  • Promote a sales culture and coach employees to identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Supervise member service operations, adjust workloads, and coordinate and evaluate staff.
  • Keep management informed of branch activities and employee performance and implement approved operational improvements.
  • Develop business-partner relationships with the community by contacting potential and current Select Employee Groups and coordinating community activities.
  • Develop relationships with top depositors, profitable members, and other key membership groups.
  • Research and recommend products and services suited to branch demographics.
  • Monitor the branch cash fund, order weekly vault cash shipments, and verify daily member service representative balances.
  • Assist with developing and implementing credit union policies and procedures.
  • Perform member services duties including operating a cash drawer, opening new accounts, and balancing accounts.
  • Coordinate and recommend purchases of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain the branch facility and communicate maintenance needs to the Facilities and Maintenance Specialist.
  • Provide support for maintenance of credit union automated teller machines.
  • Assist other departments and branches as needed.
  • Monitor and implement branch safety and security policies, procedures, and mechanisms.
  • Travel to meetings, conferences, seminars, and workshops relevant to the job.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities.
  • Comply with credit union policies and guidelines, including security, Bank Secrecy Act, identity theft and red flags, cash over/short, check cashing and holds, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Maintain understanding of lending regulations and comply with Bank Secrecy Act, Truth in Lending, Fair Lending, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and SAFE Act requirements.
