Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within stamping, precision metal forming, machining, or a comparable discipline.
  • Hands-on ownership of Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process submissions, rather than oversight of another person's packages.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 requirements in a production environment.
  • Experience preparing AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Strong geometric dimensioning and tolerancing knowledge and blueprint interpretation skills.
  • Experience submitting documentation through customer quality portals.
  • Ability to work in and document to an enterprise resource planning system.
  • Ability to work independently at a site where the quality system is still maturing and build operational structure.
  • Must meet United States person and International Traffic in Arms Regulations eligibility requirements for work on controlled programs.
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain Advanced Product Quality Planning documentation packages for new and transferred programs, including process flow diagrams, process failure mode and effects analyses, control plans, and supporting records.
  • Compile and submit Production Part Approval Process packages through customer approval, including dimensional results, material and performance test results, measurement system analysis, and process capability studies.
  • Prepare AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports for new and revised parts.
  • Issue Certificates of Conformance and assemble the supporting documentation trail.
  • Submit and manage documentation through customer quality portals and track submissions through disposition.
  • Support source inspection by coordinating customer and third-party source inspectors, preparing required documentation, and closing out findings.
  • Help mature the site's AS9100 system by tightening procedures, records, and audit readiness following initial certification.
  • Support internal and customer audits and assist with corrective action documentation.
  • Work with tooling, process, and manufacturing engineering on quality requirements for new tooling and program releases.
  • Assist with Production Part Approval Process and Advanced Product Quality Planning documentation for new product launches at the Milwaukee facility.
  • Provide interim coverage for quality engineering work in a mixed industrial and aerospace environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Exposure to IATF 16949 alongside AS9100.
  • Aerospace or defense program experience, particularly with transferred or newly launched products.
  • Experience supporting source inspection and customer quality audits.
  • Familiarity with CMMC or a controlled-documentation environment.
  • Background in a multi-site or recently acquired and integrating manufacturing organization.
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
