Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience, certification, or license.
  • A valid State of Florida Licensed Practical Nurse license is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Ability to set performance goals, provide feedback, conduct evaluations, and effectively delegate tasks.
  • Ability to provide employee training and motivation to enhance skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships, and work collaboratively with others.
  • Proficiency in office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily department operations to achieve quality, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Supervise, orient, train, evaluate, and monitor on-the-job performance.
  • Audit and maintain department metrics for unit and organizational goals.
  • Support and communicate the department and organization's mission while promoting quality improvement and systems thinking.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures designed to improve quality of care and operational efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of safety and responsiveness.
  • Assist in developing departmental goals, standards, and objectives that support the organization's strategic plan and vision.
  • Ensure compliance with department policies and standard work so that metrics are met and processes are followed appropriately.
  • Staff, train, and supervise staff, including participating in annual performance evaluations.
  • Monitor equipment utilization, oversee equipment working order, and ensure adequate supplies.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with nursing staff and visit units as needed.
  • Assume responsibility for staffing and scheduling with appropriate utilization of personnel.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing with standardizing remote video monitoring processes across inpatient units.
  • Onboard and orient new staff to the role, including role responsibilities, training, and competencies.
  • Conduct rounds on each staff member throughout the shift to discuss potential or actual issues.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
