The Role
Join our team at Xos, a force in the Commercial Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturing sector, as we seek a Procurement Intern to join and support our dynamic Supply Chain team! As an intern, you will have the opportunity to learn and play a vital part in our procurement operations, contributing to the acquisition of essential components and materials crucial to production. Under the supervision of our Supply Chain leadership, this internship is an anticipated 3-4 month internship, with opportunity for extension.
This is an on-site based internship at our Los Angeles, CA HQ
Responsibilities
- Opportunity to learn and assist the procurement team in sourcing activities, including identifying potential suppliers, obtaining quotes, and evaluating supplier capabilities
- Visibility and opportunity to support negotiations of contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and address procurement needs and requirements effectively
- Help maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and documentation
- Aid in monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries
- Contribute to ongoing supplier relationship management and performance evaluation
- Participate in process improvement initiatives within the purchasing function
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of purchasing activities with organizational goals
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and supplier dynamics relevant to EV manufacturing
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Recent graduates will be considered and welcome to apply!
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with diverse teams and external suppliers
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on task accuracy and meticulous documentation
- Proficiency in Google Suite, particularly Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel and Google Slides
- Enthusiasm for the electric vehicle industry and a desire to contribute to its growth and sustainability
Preferred Qualifications - not required but advantageous
- Previous internship or work experience in procurement, supply chain, or related fields
- Familiarity with NetSuite or other ERP/Procurement software or tools
- Knowledge of sustainability principles and their application in procurement practices
- Ability thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
The hourly range for this role is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Xos Inc. reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less that the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the hourly range will be based on several factors, including not but limited to, job-related knowledge, skillset, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, geographic location, and other business or organizational factors.
- California (Los Angeles Metropolitan): $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
