Requirements
  • Previous Front Desk Agent experience is required.
  • At least two years of experience as a Concierge or Hotel Guest Services Agent is required.
  • A degree or diploma in Hospitality Administration from a recognized university or college is required.
  • A proven record of exceeding guest expectations and commitment to guest service is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both official languages are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proven service leadership skills, and the ability to inspire colleagues to deliver outstanding service are required.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities are required.
  • The ability to work cohesively as part of a team is required.
  • The candidate must be organized and results-oriented, flexible, and able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Proven initiative and the ability to complete projects in a timely manner are required.
  • Knowledge of Opera Property Manager, Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook is required.
  • The candidate must hold Smart Serve certification.
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift are required, with the ability to occasionally kneel, push, pull, lift up to 20 pounds, and use ladders, stairs, and ramps.
Responsibilities
  • Provide professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests and colleagues.
  • Apply Fairmont Corporate standards and Service Promise standards in every interaction.
  • Ensure Fairmont Château Laurier policies, procedures, and corporate standards are known, followed, and acted upon.
  • Oversee all aspects of Fairmont Gold operations to ensure smooth operation and high guest satisfaction.
  • Review Fairmont Gold reservations and ensure that ALL Accor Live Limitless member reservations and expectations are properly managed.
  • Direct and execute approved Fairmont Gold plans and programs in accordance with company and hotel policies.
  • Track and forecast daily, weekly, and monthly Fairmont Gold occupancy.
  • Control room inventory, including out-of-order rooms, sell-outs, preventive maintenance, and special room projects.
  • Support and promote the Fairmont Gold upsell program and monitor honour bar revenue.
  • Provide concierge information and exceptional service to guests in the Fairmont Gold lounge.
  • Establish daily communication with Fairmont Gold staff and maintain contacts with other Fairmont properties, hotels, and hospitality services in the city.
  • Coordinate with other departments regarding Fairmont Gold supplies and staffing requirements.
  • Attend department communication and other meetings in the absence of the Fairmont Gold Director.
  • Report housekeeping and maintenance deficiencies in the department.
  • Oversee the setup and breakdown of food and beverage presentations, including breakfast, coffee and tea service, bar service, and canapés.
  • Assist guests with food and beverage menu items and maintain knowledge of menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods.
  • Maintain the lounge and adjust its ambiance between food and beverage presentations.
  • Lead and supervise Fairmont Gold attendants to ensure adherence to Fairmont Gold standards and operating procedures.
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, performance management, corrective action, orientation, and cross-training for colleagues working in or serving Fairmont Gold guests.
  • Ensure appropriate service levels are provided and achieved.
  • Participate in guest satisfaction initiatives and hotel community activities that strengthen interdepartmental working relationships.
  • Support the achievement of Colleague Engagement Survey objectives.
  • Promote and enforce the hotel's health and safety standards and emergency procedures.
  • Promote and adhere to the company's environmental and Green Team policies and procedures.
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity is an asset.
  • Previous food and beverage serving experience is preferred.
  • A sound knowledge of major cultures and expectations of international travelers is desirable.
  • Active membership in good standing with Les Clefs D'Or is an asset.
