Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in an IT-related field is required, or six years of IT-related experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Two years of progressively relevant experience are required.
  • Current United States citizenship is required.
  • The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and secure access to the Arnold Engineering Development Complex local area network.
  • The candidate must currently possess or commit to obtaining requisite certifications in accordance with Department of Defense 8140 within six months of hiring.
  • The candidate must be available outside standard working hours to remediate critical IT infrastructure issues as required.
  • The candidate must wear company-issued personal protective equipment in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
Responsibilities
  • Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows workstations and servers, including Active Directory, user accounts, Group Policy Objects, Domain Name System, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Support the VMware environment through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, updates, patching, and storage and networking configuration.
  • Support the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environment through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and user pool management.
  • Develop, maintain, and deploy Windows client images across the base for standardized workstation provisioning.
  • Configure, monitor, and harden systems using access controls, firewalls, and antivirus measures in compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides and Department of Defense security policies.
  • Implement vulnerability patches and ensure government information technology networks are documented, evaluated, and compliant in coordination with the Information System Security Manager.
  • Author and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, technical guides, and system configuration records.
  • Perform regular system backups, execute disaster recovery planning, and maintain comprehensive system configuration documentation.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine systems administration tasks.
  • Provide technical support to Arnold Engineering Development Complex customers, contractors, and end users.
  • Collaborate with the information technology team to design and implement system enhancements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience imaging and deploying Windows clients using Windows Deployment Services, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, and System Center Configuration Manager.
  • Experience administering Active Directory, including user accounts, Group Policy Objects, and security settings.
  • Experience managing Domain Name System and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol services.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 management.
  • Experience with vulnerability patching and system security.
  • PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with network protocols and services including Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol, Domain Name System, and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol.
  • Microsoft certification for Windows Server and Windows domain management, such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert.
  • VMware certification, such as VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization or VMware Certified Advanced Professional.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and technologies.
  • Familiarity with SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor and its implementation.
  • Experience implementing and managing Public Key Infrastructure certificates.
