Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including subsystems and components.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicles and make them roadworthy.
  • Ability to understand original-equipment system descriptions and service and repair manuals.
  • Ability to independently handle diagnostic testers.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic testers including VIDA, Xentry, GDS, ADT, SDT-II, DiagBox, HDS, Launch, Autel, G-Scan, and Zenith.
  • Knowledge of wiring diagrams and conventions.
  • Knowledge of the Bosch Aftermarket Diagnostic Tool, ESI [tronic].
  • Knowledge of CAN, CAN FD, DoIP, UDS, and J1939.
  • Knowledge of BDX-Bosch Data Extension.
  • Experience with analyzer and simulation tools from Vector or Samtec, such as HSX and HS+.
  • Ability to handle various original-equipment testers.
  • B.E./B.Tech degree in Automotive Engineering.
  • Three to six years of experience.
Responsibilities
  • Perform hands-on vehicle service, diagnostics, and troubleshooting in original-equipment dealerships and workshops.
  • Develop automotive diagnostic content.
  • Map ESI standard texts to original-equipment texts for automotive aftersales and aftermarket diagnostic tester software.
  • Create requirement specifications for automotive aftersales and aftermarket diagnostic tester software.
  • Develop end-to-end diagnostic content for engine management, electric and hybrid systems, brake control, infotainment, advanced driver-assistance systems, transmission, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and airbags.
  • Analyze vehicle communication bus logs using analyzers.
  • Simulate automotive systems using simulator solutions and in conjunction with original-equipment testers.
  • Design and create workflows or test sequences using integrated development environments such as BDX or Grade-X.
  • Evaluate original-equipment diagnostic data, derive useful insights, and implement findings in the target tester.
  • Perform on-vehicle validation of implemented diagnostic content and create test reports.
  • Conduct benchmarking and reverse engineering of aftersales and aftermarket diagnostic testers.
  • Evaluate aftermarket tester coverage by testing various vehicle brands and systems across different markets and create test reports.
  • Review deliverables and provide recommendations.
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams and technical experts from global teams.
  • Travel to workshops and original-equipment dealerships as needed for on-vehicle coverage, tracing, and release testing.
