Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with information security methodologies, business continuity, disaster recovery, policy and technical report writing, information security technologies, incident response, project management, open-source technologies, and various operating systems is preferred.
  • Verify U.S. citizenship and complete the required employment eligibility verification upon hire.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and alignment with Martin’s Point values.
  • Have an interest in learning or knowledge of the security incident response lifecycle.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the latest security exploits and how to prevent or detect them.
  • Understand incident response, disaster recovery, contingency planning, encryption technologies, business methodologies, and vulnerability management.
  • Know Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
  • Have project management and documentation skills.
  • Have interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Maintain industry awareness regarding information and cybersecurity trends and directions.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks independently.
  • Have a thorough understanding of traditional and mobile operating systems and applications.
  • Be able to test and analyze complex system, network, and database security settings.
  • Understand business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response best practices.
  • Know how best practices integrate with company objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Information Security Team with implementing, executing, and automating incident response, business continuity, disaster recovery, and audit programs.
  • Help coordinate responses to information security incidents and threats in alignment with Martin's Point Health Care policies.
  • Assess, manage, document, and coordinate information and cyber vulnerabilities throughout the organization to ensure proper remediation.
  • Work with technical experts in the IT department to streamline workflows and processes for efficient and thorough support of organizational audit requirements.
  • Develop, define, review, and enforce information security policies, standards, and guidelines supporting business operations and technology implementations.
  • Help proactively identify information and IT security risks, including risks from IT technical implementations or business processes, to ensure proper remediation.
  • Assist with coordinating group-wide and company-wide information security matters, including business continuity, disaster recovery, incident response, intrusion detection management, and cybersecurity advisories, in alignment with industry best practices.
  • Assist with preparing and coordinating disaster recovery and business continuity meetings with designated business owners to support development and maintenance of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Prepare and manage metrics for the incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery programs to ensure progress meets desired outcomes.
  • Prepare and manage incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery exercises to validate business resiliency and plan efficacy.
Desired Qualifications
  • Healthcare experience and familiarity with HIPAA/HITECH, PCI-DSS, NIST 800-53, and NIST 800-171 are highly desirable.

Martin'S Point Health Care Risk Adjustment Settlement

PORTLAND, Maine, July 31, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Martin's Point Health Care announced that it has agreed to a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to resolve an investigation related to Martin's Point's Risk Adjustment practices for the payment years 2016-2019. The claims resolved by the settlement are allegations only, and there has been no determination of liability. The settlement is not related to member care or the payment of member claims.Martin's Point worked collaboratively with the DOJ during the course of the investigation. Despite denying liability for the litigation claims at issue, Martin's Point ultimately determined that settlement of this matter was appropriate rather than engaging in the cost and uncertainty of protracted litigation.A spokesperson for the organization commented: "This settlement is not an admission of liability, it instead allows us to avoid the disruption, expense, and uncertainty of litigation.
