Tecovas is looking for a Senior Payroll Accounting Analyst  to join our growing and dynamic Accounting Team. We are seeking an experienced candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working cross functionally to support the payroll needs of a growing company, and can operate as the subject matter expert for all payroll activities as well as assist monthly account close procedures. This role will report to the Controller but will also collaborate with other teams both inside and outside of Tecovas, such as our People and Retail teams, our payroll processing software support team, and the external auditors.

This position is a hybrid role with the candidate strongly encouraged to work from our office in Austin, TX on certain days with the ability to work from home on other days.

What you’ll do:

• Manage and execute multi-state timekeeping and payroll functions for both salary and hourly employees
• Partner with both Accounting and People teams to ensure accurate calculation of all aspects of compensation-salary, benefits, 401k, etc.
• Coordinate with the People team on all payroll changes
• Respond to payroll related inquiries
• Prepare payroll journal entries and post in NetSuite
• Reconcile activity for payroll Balance Sheet and P&L accounts
• Assist in month end close account analysis for all payroll and benefits GL accounts
• Assist in other monthly payroll reconciliation procedures
• Assist in preparation of audit requests
• Assist in ad-hoc payroll projects as needed

Experience we’re looking for:

• Possess an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
• 5 + years experience with high volume payroll processing
• Experience with Paycom
• Excel (Intermediate)
• NetSuite experience a plus!
