Requirements
  • A BS/BA degree in engineering, science, or business management.
  • Five years of directly applicable experience providing technical or business support to management on projects.
  • Consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • Ability to use a computer to communicate via email.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related tools and technology.
  • Ability to identify conflicts, potential conflicts, or perceived conflicts of interest with Hanford Site contractors.
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination, a granted vaccination exception, or ability to meet entry and testing requirements for federal buildings.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe tools.
  • Eligibility for Facility Access Authorization, also referred to as Employment Authorization, from the U.S. Government's designated Security Office.
  • Ability to complete a Financial Disclosure Statement if required.
  • Ability to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigation, up to a Top Secret or DOE Q clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Support the TRS-QAD and Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Project in managing and overseeing quality assurance, nuclear safety, and safety and health divisions.
  • Support the WTP Quarterly Assessment Program Committee review report by summarizing the oversight program, results overview, and performance trending.
  • Develop self-assessment plans, participate in self-assessments, and document results.
  • Provide quality-related oversight functions as an oversight team member lead to Federal Project Directors addressing performance issues and verifying facility milestones.
  • Provide oversight support to external and internal WTP auditing efforts as a qualified assessor or auditor in independent audits, surveillances, or assessments.
  • Perform oversight of Bechtel National, Inc. efforts to address Priority Level 1 Findings, including monitoring and reporting on Assurance Program improvements, extent-of-condition reviews, and issue resolution.
  • Develop and manage the WTP records system so records are identified, stored, and retrievable under the NQA-1-compliant Quality Assurance Program Description.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of Bechtel National, Inc. actions addressing Department of Energy Inspector General recommendations.
  • Conduct effectiveness reviews of Bechtel National, Inc. actions addressing Priority Level 1 Findings and Inspector General recommendations.
  • Provide WTP Performance Assurance support to the AMWTP, Deputy AMWTP, and Division Directors for management assessments, action tracking, and record management.
  • Provide backup support to the Performance Assurance Manager, including preparing for and implementing oversight.
  • Act as the technical oversight and quality subject matter expert for the WTP Performance Assurance Program.
  • Act as team lead for the GSSC Performance Assurance Team.
  • Review and comment on new and revised ORP Performance Assurance procedures and WTP oversight reports for technical quality.
  • Support the WTP Assistant Manager and Deputy Manager.
  • Provide auditing support as requested.
  • Support quality and safety activities for TRS-QAD and the WTP during project startup and commissioning.
  • Provide DFLAW flowsheet analyst support.
  • Perform assessments of the WRPS Tank Operations Contract Mission Integration Organization, including RPP integrated flowsheet definition and analysis, strategic and operations planning, and waste feed delivery planning.
  • Assess WTP contractor efforts to maintain Interface Control Documents and plan the transition to operations.
  • Mentor new GSSC employees joining the Performance Assurance Team and train new employees and interns on quality assurance processes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Relevant Government, Public Sector, and Infrastructure sector experience, particularly nuclear and environmental experience.
  • Knowledge and application of requirements under DOE Orders, ORP procedures, and the ORP Quality Assurance Program Description.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
