Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of a medical assisting program is preferred.
  • A Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant credential is preferred.
  • At least one year of previous experience as a medical assistant or in a patient-facing clinic or hospital role is required.
  • Pediatric experience and vaccine administration experience are preferred.
  • A current CPR certificate is required.

Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations.
  • Take and record patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Assist healthcare providers during medical procedures and examinations.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Greet patients and visitors, answer phone calls, and schedule appointments.
  • Analyze, update, and maintain patients' medical records while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Process laboratory specimens and prepare them for testing.
  • Assist with insurance verification and billing tasks as needed.
  • Provide patients and their families with information and instructions about medical conditions, treatments, and medications.
  • Educate patients and their families about preventive healthcare measures and lifestyle modifications.
  • Ensure patients and their families understand treatment plans and follow-up care instructions.
  • Prepare exam rooms and medical equipment for patient use.
  • Follow infection-control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Dispose of biohazardous materials and medical waste in accordance with regulations.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
