  • General knowledge of civil aviation regulations, engine/overhaul manuals, and/or other process manuals used to repair turbine engine components.
  • Continuing education in related processes and technologies.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate engine components and weld processes, customer specifications, FAA regulations and/or approved technical data to ensure efficient operation of the processes supporting these programs.
  • Solve weld process problems and evaluate methods to improve processes economically without compromising the quality of the process and/or end product.
  • Review new weld repairs, new and/or existing programs and processes to improve quality, efficiency and turn time of components. Submit written process procedures to customers, engine manufacturers or FAA/DER for review and approval.
  • Provide technical support to sales.
  • Develop new repairs or processes and submit written proposals to the customer, engine manufacturer or for FAA/DER or EASA review and approval.
  • Ensure all testing required to control processes is being performed.
  • Ensure that process quality requirements are being met and written procedures are established per FAA approved technical data and/or industry standards.
  • Work together with CRT personnel to maintain a company safety program.
  • Work with the Purchasing department to procure any materials, equipment and supplies as necessary related to repair processes.
  • Communicate with individuals and department groups, leads and others as necessary regarding repair processes and facility improvements as a member of the engineering team.
  • Provide training and lead meetings, as necessary, to assure the qualification and certification of employees per company or industry standards as defined by FAA approved overhaul procedures, customer specifications and/or company policy procedures manual.
  • Provide technical support for production to resolve process discrepancies, solve technical problems, revisions to documentation, and other technical needs for new part and/or process development. Design new or modify existing tooling and fixturing drawings/blue prints in coordination with engineers; product leaders; and operators.
