- Experience administering and engineering a combination of WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere MQ, Serena Dimensions, and Wily is required.
- Experience with UNIX command-line tools is required.
- Scripting or programming experience is required.
- Troubleshooting, debugging, problem-solving, decision-making, data collection, analysis, and reporting skills are required.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Visio, Internet/Intranet systems, and other job-related systems is required.
- Professional certification is listed among the qualifications.
- Design, build, and maintain operational readiness of WebSphere middleware infrastructure in a 24x7 computing environment.
- Provide level 3 and level 4 support for projects and implemented applications, occasionally outside business hours.
- Create and configure clusters with multiple vertical and horizontal clones, including JVM parameters, class path settings, virtual hosting, and session management.
- Configure JDBC providers, data sources, and connection pools for Oracle and DB2.
- Troubleshoot database issues and work with database administrators to resolve them.
- Configure the WebSphere MQ JMS provider and J2EE connection factories for connections to MQ queues and destinations.
- Set up environments for packaging and deploying Enterprise Application Archive and Web Application Archive applications in WebSphere across development, quality assurance, staging, and production environments.
- Work on-site, after hours, and on weekends as needed.
