HCVT operates under a hybrid working model. Effective Jan 1, 2024, employees are expected to work at their assigned office a minimum of two days per week. In the event that this is not geographically reasonable, you may work in the office closest to your home. Additionally, we expect employees to participate in required firm events/meeting (e.g., trainings, team bonding, client meetings, etc.)
An experienced staff in the SALT group is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Prepares federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts; also prepares related income tax workpapers.
- Prepares correspondence to taxing authorities.
- Works with other members of a team on a variety of engagements.
- Identifies accounting and income tax issues and proposes strategies to resolve them.
- Communicates status of work and issues with seniors, managers or partners on a timely basis.
- Develops strong relationships with firm and client personnel.
To be successful, these are the skills and experience you will need:
- Undergraduate or Master’s degree in accounting or taxation
- Should be preparing for or already passed the CPA examination
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience and a basic understanding of income tax
- A solid understanding of accounting
- Ability to utilize firm technology to enhance client service
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs; other tax preparation software experience preferred
This salary range is specific to the state(s) listed and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set and education; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.A reasonable estimate of the range for this position is $82,000 to $90,000.
