Requirements
  • A diploma or Associate’s Degree in a professional nursing program is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required within five years of starting the position.
  • A Master's Degree is required within five years of obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical setting are required.
  • A current Registered Nurse license in New Jersey or Pennsylvania, based on work location, is required.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • The employee must be able to meet the stated sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, writing, tactile, hearing, and vision requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs and projects that support quality, cost-effective, and compassionate patient care.
  • Lead and coordinate staff education and training activities.
  • Maintain clinical competence in patient care.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, assess staff performance, and facilitate implementation of new patient-care practices.
  • Collaborate with staff colleagues to develop and implement education and training for new technologies, procedures, and other patient-care activities.
  • Assess staff learning needs and provide ongoing education and development through mentoring, teaching, and clinical support.
  • Develop and provide classroom and clinical experiences for new and current nursing personnel.
  • Assist unit leadership with coordinating, scheduling, and evaluating unit-based orientation for new employees.
  • Develop and implement practice-related competencies.
  • Participate in developing policies and procedures.
  • Participate in activities that promote professional growth and development.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor program-performance measures.
  • Demonstrate competency in assigned areas of responsibility.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience providing in-service or education programs is preferred.
