Requirements
  • 6–10 years of software engineering experience, including experience leading engineers or engineering teams.
  • A strong technical background in software engineering, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, Linux systems, or infrastructure automation.
  • Experience working close to hardware, firmware, networking, server provisioning, or large-scale compute infrastructure is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical investigations across distributed cloud services, operating systems, networking, firmware, and hardware.
  • Proven ability to translate strategic objectives into technical roadmaps and execute complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing engineering team responsible for Bare Metal Provisioning infrastructure.
  • Oversee the architecture, development, and delivery of highly available, scalable services that automate the bare metal server lifecycle from hardware bring-up through customer-ready provisioning and firmware management.
  • Guide the team in designing simple, resilient, and automated solutions across OCI's Compute and GPU fleet.
  • Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap for Bare Metal Provisioning, balancing platform enablement, scalability, reliability, security, automation, and operational overhead.
  • Drive enablement of new AMD, Intel, Arm, NVIDIA GPU, networking, and server platforms.
  • Lead engineering efforts spanning distributed services, Linux, firmware, BMCs, NICs, SmartNICs, ILOMs, GPUs, and other hardware components.
  • Build and maintain operational practices for critical provisioning services, including on-call readiness, observability, capacity planning, and incident management.
  • Lead complex operational incidents, drive root-cause analysis and post-mortems, and implement systemic improvements to increase availability and reduce operational burden.
  • Partner with Compute, Networking, Security, Data Center Engineering, Hardware Development, and other OCI organizations to deliver new platforms and capabilities.
  • Drive clarity on ownership, dependencies, technical requirements, and delivery commitments across organizational boundaries.
  • Communicate technical strategy, priorities, risks, tradeoffs, and project outcomes to engineers, partner teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Own hiring and team growth while developing engineers and technical leaders through coaching, feedback, career development, and challenging assignments.
