Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Review and understand bid documents published by the client.
  • Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
  • Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Interface with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to cost estimates.
  • Use estimating procedures and policies.
  • Conduct a pre-job checklist and define the scope of work.
  • Coordinate disciplines among the estimating team.
  • Perform multiple types of quantity take-off.
  • Prepare the project bid schedule.
  • Promote interaction with the estimating team by brainstorming project constructability, maximizing creativity, analyzing production rates, and maximizing indirect costs to reduce duration.
  • Prepare the technical and commercial approach to proposal cost.
  • Ensure contract terms and conditions are reviewed by appropriate counsel for exceptions or comments.
  • Assist others as needed.
