Requirements
  • A Diploma or Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety from a recognized and accredited institute in the country is required.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in Environment, Health and Safety in a complex, high-risk industry, preferably process industry or data center operations, is required.
  • Applicants must have knowledge of local statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Applicants must be able to communicate effectively with clients on EHS matters and issues to reach an agreed solution.
  • Applicants must have experience communicating and problem-solving with contractor and subcontractor supervisors and workers.
  • Applicants must have experience developing and delivering operational and process safety topics and conducting toolbox talks and pre-task briefings.
  • Applicants must have demonstrated experience conducting safety inspections to identify visible and concealed unsafe conditions.
  • Applicants must have experience identifying hazards and missing controls for preventive and ad hoc maintenance work involving infrastructure and operational equipment such as chillers, generators, and high-, medium-, and low-voltage panels.
  • Applicants must be familiar with electrical systems, fire suppression systems, and HVAC.
  • Applicants must have risk assessment abilities and proficiency in creating EHS documentation.
  • Applicants must be able to work weekends and after hours when high-risk activities are planned.
Responsibilities
  • Support client service-level agreement and key performance indicator requirements related to EHS.
  • Submit client EHS-related reports weekly, monthly, and quarterly as required.
  • Support implementation of EHS policies, systems, and procedures across data center operational sites.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, STACK standards, and client requirements.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing safe work method statements, risk assessments, and EHS documentation for preventive maintenance works.
  • Provide coaching and support to site teams, subcontractors, and workers on safe work practices.
  • Contribute to incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action management.
  • Deliver inductions and safety training.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks before high-risk activities and review and confirm implementation of controls.
  • Issue permits to work after physically verifying controls for requested activities.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records and reporting for management and clients.
  • Provide direction and leadership to site operations teams regarding health and safety systems and processes, including development, training, and discipline of the site operations and maintenance organization.
  • Provide advice and consultation to the client’s facilities regarding health and safety matters.
  • Ensure meetings with maintenance contractors, specialist vendors, and suppliers meet required standards; establish and oversee vendor-management governance; and develop corrective action plans when performance falls below expectations.
  • Support the client with statutory compliance requirements and site certifications.
  • Ensure site operations, including incident management, escalation, and near-miss reporting, follow approved client, customer, and facilities-management procedures.
  • Conduct daily site safety walks to identify hazards and missing controls, correct unsafe acts and hazardous conditions, and monitor safe work practices.
  • Record daily safety observations from safety walks and report them.
  • Conduct daily meetings with contractor safety team members when preventive maintenance work is undertaken.
  • Communicate site safety observations to contractors and subcontractors, and issue and monitor closeout of nonconformance and noncompliance reports.
  • Maintain, review, and revise the Integrated Business Management System in alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant regional certifications.
  • Maintain and update records required to ensure compliance and maintain ISO certification for data center operations and corporate functions across the region.
  • Lead and coordinate Integrated Business Management System certification and surveillance audits across the region according to plan.
  • Perform other EHS duties or tasks assigned by STACK management or the relevant EHS and operations leadership.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of Lead Auditor courses for auditing ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 is desirable.
