Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3-5 years of quality engineering experience.
  • Experience with ISO 9001/TS-16949 Compliance.
  • Knowledge of GANA and ANSI standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Knowledge of Control Plans, Design of Experiments, FMEAs, Root Cause Analysis, and Capability Analysis.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process, and 8D processes.
  • Broad knowledge of theory and statistical principles as well as Statistical Process Control.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25%.
Responsibilities
  • Assists the Quality Assurance Director in any and all quality related issues at EGP.
  • Understands the Quality System and how it is applied at EGP.
  • Assists the QAD in ensuring that the system is implemented and adhered to in a productive manner and complies with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Understands how the Quality Department functions as part of and within EGP processes, including understanding what the Quality Assurance Team and other employees do on the production floor to ensure a good product and the ability to perform or assist that job whenever the Quality Assurance Director deems it necessary.
  • Evaluates Statistical Process Control and other production data to formulate and maintain quality objectives driven by the Quality Assurance Director.
  • Completes revisions or proofreading necessary for procedures or work instructions when instructed by the QAD.
  • Interprets quality philosophy and trains key personnel on standards put in place by QAD.
  • Oversees inspection and testing to ensure the quality of assigned product or component meets customer expectations.
  • Applies Statistical Process Control methods for analyzing data.
  • Performs vendor review and evaluation based on Vendor Quality Program complementary to QAD policies.
  • Implements continuous improvement activities identified by QAD as related to product quality.
  • Assists QAD with Corrective and/or Preventive Action when product or process does not conform to stated requirements.
  • Acts as manufacturing resource for notifications and resolution of supplier quality issues associated with defined product families.
  • Supports Part Submission Warrants and customer respective forms for Advanced Product Quality Planning.
  • Acts as Product Quality liaison to assist QAD in providing technical concept and solutions to customers.
  • Responsible for tool usage and maintaining calibration program.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25%.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of instrument calibration service and repair – onsite/external; Dimensional Calibration, Masters & Standards, Tool Calibration (Micrometers, Calipers – Dials, Digital, Vernier) and gage calibration.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Familiar with Minitab 17 Statistical Software or equivalent.
  • Familiar with the MS Office 2010 software package and with SPC Software tools.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing or other industries with stringent quality standards.
