Requirements
  • A Master of Science and 0–1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • A CAMPEP-certified graduate degree or certificate in Medical Physics is required.
  • Clinical residency training must not have been completed.
  • Experience operating a linear accelerator, radiation measurement quality-assurance devices, and Eclipse treatment-planning software is required.
  • Experience operating quality-assurance devices, analyzing quality-assurance data, and creating spreadsheets is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with quality-assurance procedures for the linear accelerator at the Penn Veterinary School in Philadelphia, including operating radiation therapy equipment, setting up radiation-measuring devices, preparing quality-assurance treatment plans, and preparing daily, monthly, and annual quality-assurance reports for review by the Qualified Medical Physicist.
  • Assist the Qualified Medical Physicist in developing new treatment procedures and workflows at the veterinary school.
  • Consolidate daily, monthly, and annual linear-accelerator and patient-specific quality-assurance results at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine.
  • Create summary tables, trend patterns, and visualization templates for quality-assurance data performed by physics residents and other Qualified Medical Physicists for analysis and review.
  • Assist the Qualified Medical Physicist in ensuring that quality-assurance equipment functions properly.
