Requirements
  • At least one year of maintenance and cleaning experience in a large residential or Program setting.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas within the facility. This includes but is not limited to: floor care (mopping, sweeping, buffing, stripping and waxing), cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, separating recyclables, emptying garbage, wiping windows and walls, and cleaning stairways.
  • Carry out minor repairs and building maintenance throughout assigned areas of the facility.
  • Responsible for exterior snow and ice removal as well as upkeep of the grounds. This includes but is not limited to sidewalk maintenance, maintaining landscaping, and all other aspects of the building exterior.
  • Assist Staff with special events by setting the chairs and tables up for use making sure the area is clean and safe for all
  • Maintain building maintenance tools and machinery to ensure that all items are in good working condition.
  • If Program does not have a superintendent, Responsible for ordering cleaning supplies, paper supplies, lightbulbs, garbage bags, etc. and maintaining biweekly inventory.
  • Assist in moving and storing program supplies, office furniture, office equipment, dorm furniture, consumer belongings, and other items in and around the facility when and where appropriate.
  • Comply with all SUS Employee Policies, Procedures and Protocols SUS Cooperate Compliance Policies
  • Willing to assist when EMERGENCIES arise in the Facility
  • Must wear SUS maintenance uniform and must maintain uniform so that it is clean and presentable at the start of each shift.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by Director or Superintendent
  • Attend staff meetings, group supervision, and trainings as needed.
  • Assist with apartment turn over following move outs to prepare apartments for new families, this includes plastering, sanding walls and painting; transporting resident and property to new apartment/unit.
  • Assist Super with the maintenance of the building
Desired Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Beneficial for candidate to have experience working within a Supportive Housing setting.
