Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent certificate (GED) is required, or a minimum of three years of verifiable experience may substitute for the diploma.
  • The employee must meet the established physical and sensory requirements, including prolonged sitting, standing, and walking; handling equipment; and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or walking objects weighing more than 200 pounds with assistance if needed.
  • The employee must have experience in security or security-related fields and customer service.
  • The employee must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record accepted by the Network Insurance Carrier.
  • The employee must obey and adhere to all motor vehicle regulations and laws while operating hospital vehicles.
Responsibilities
  • Patrol hospital property to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and employees.
  • Handle and monitor patients who exhibit violent behavior.
  • Investigate security-related incidents and document findings in incident reports.
  • Document and maintain a daily report of activities.
  • Lock and unlock various buildings around the hospital campus.
  • Participate as a member of the fire and disaster response teams.
  • Enforce the hospital parking policy.
  • Respond to security alerts, fires, and disasters.
  • Respond to agitation or violent behavior requiring verbal de-escalation or physical restraint as a member of the security alert team.
  • Perform hazardous patient decontamination procedures, including identifying hazards, selecting proper personal protective equipment and respiratory protection, setting up decontamination systems, removing contaminated clothing from patients, and containing contaminated waste for proper disposal.
  • Provide professional, helpful, and caring information and service to patients, visitors, staff, and other customers.

  • Experience in security or security-related fields and customer service is preferred.
