Requirements
  • Diploma (High School) or GED
  • Three years of experience with HVAC equipment and operation
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Record information and communicate effectively
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Responsibilities
  • Monitors the campus Building Automation System (BAS) for proper operation of building mechanical systems and respond to alarm conditions
  • Analyzes computer generated and phoned‐in facility related problems, prioritizes and coordinates proper responses
  • Handles normal and emergency phone calls as the after-hours call center. Dispatches technicians as needed. On occasion will need to be able to respond to crisis situations. Creates accurate UT Works Service Requests
  • Provides timely and courteous customer service, keeps supervisors up to date on daily work order status to ensure clear, concise, and necessary communication channels are maintained and customer expectations are met. Works in a professional manner. Communicates effectively with customers to understand their needs and expectations
  • Performs work independently from written or verbal instructions and in accordance with established operating procedures to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Analyzes operating difficulties with building systems using troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques to identify equipment related issues
  • Collects building automation system data. Runs reports, maintains historical logs, and software databases
  • Programs building automation equipment for routine and event-driven facility equipment schedules
Desired Qualifications
  • Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • More than three years experience of the required qualifications
  • Experience at the University of Texas or in a university setting
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in a Call Center environment
  • Experience with computerized service request systems
  • Professional demeanor
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the cultural and hierarchical variety of University community served
  • Proven ability to work with a team of multi-crafted trades people
