- At least 4 years of experience applying Design for Reliability techniques is required.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer is required.
- At least 3 years of experience leading projects is required.
- At least 3 years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems is required.
- A master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred.
- Experience with Generative AI, Generative AI agents, or Google Infrastructure is preferred.
- Experience with large-scale and secure fleet management of servers and components is preferred.
- Experience in enterprise risk assessments is preferred.
- Experience with process improvement and automation is preferred.
- Develop and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for critical areas within Semantic Understanding Site Reliability Engineering, mentoring team members to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
- Initiate, own, and lead large-scale, complex projects and programs to improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of Semantic Understanding services across multiple teams and systems.
- Partner with development teams to influence system design and architecture, embed reliability principles throughout the development life cycle, and drive alignment on technical direction across teams.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks in production; design and implement architectural improvements for long-term service health, scalability, and efficiency.
- Participate in the on-call rotation, respond to incidents, and drive postmortem actions to prevent recurrence.
- Optimize existing systems, build infrastructure, and eliminate operational work through automation.
- Design and operate large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems while monitoring capacity and performance.
