Requirements
  • Previous office experience is necessary.
  • Experience with cash handling is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, early evenings, and days.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in hot and/or cold environments.
  • Ability to lift 22 kilograms.
  • Education in a related field is an asset.
  • Comfortable and competent with computers.
  • Passion for local, organic, and sustainable food and natural supplements.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and positively engage with all customers.
  • Desire to contribute to people's health and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the store management team by printing schedules and sales reports and completing day-specific duties.
  • Maintain accurate and current data entry.
  • Manage correspondence from Head Office and maintain store signage and customer communication, including printing new-item and sale tags and adjusting prices.
  • Maintain cash float by counting tills and filling and requesting coin orders.
  • Print the daily schedule, complete the opening cash checklist, complete deposits and balance sheets, and check sales totals, refunds, coupons, and paid-outs.
  • Send daily and hourly sales reports, check and post charges, and find information for customer returns.
  • Assist on cash when needed, cover breaks, and troubleshoot till and equipment issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of Nature's Fare Markets products and featured products on sale through flyers and magazines.
  • Manage customer wait times and process and bag purchases efficiently.
  • Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and attractive.
  • Explain promotions, product features, the customer loyalty program, Fare Points, and smoothie cards.
  • Greet customers, answer last-minute product questions, and call the appropriate department team member when needed.
  • Ring through products, bag purchases, and process payments.
  • Support team members and help keep products and the store looking their best.
