Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or relevant work experience is required.
  • Seven years of progressive work experience and two years of management experience are required.
  • At least three years of healthcare experience working with physicians or providers, medical practice office staff, other medical specialties, or related fields is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines is required.
  • Proven written and verbal communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Proficiency with personal computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • The ability to analyze and interpret data is required.
  • Negotiation and leadership skills are required.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and hospital service lines is required.
  • The ability to drive results through effective influence and relationship skills is required.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the organization's ambassador and maintain ongoing communication with providers and referral sources.
  • Manage and strengthen referring-professional relationships to maintain required satisfaction levels.
  • Share referring-professional feedback with faculty and leadership within 24 hours of receiving it.
  • Perform service recovery for access, referral, and follow-up patient communication issues; document occurrences and resolutions in the database.
  • Participate in quality-improvement and customer-satisfaction work groups as requested.
  • Attend inpatient, outpatient, and treatment-team meetings to increase knowledge of clinical programs and foster communication between clinical services and business development.
  • Analyze referral data with the Business Development Director to identify acquisition and retention strategies for healthcare professionals and prospective referral sources.
  • Develop sales plans with objectives, strategies, tactics, and measurement tools; evaluate service-delivery standards before promoting clinical faculty or services.
  • Contribute referral-relationship development strategies to service-line marketing plans and provide requested updates to service-line leadership.
  • Determine rounding cadence based on referral volumes, utilization opportunities, and provider-office satisfaction with access.
  • Submit expense reports on time.
  • Make direct calls on identified referral sources to identify needs and promote service-line offerings with timely follow-up.
  • Achieve referral and admission targets and required phone and face-to-face contacts with assigned accounts.
  • Coordinate office visits between clinical faculty and referring professionals and document faculty visit activity in the database.
  • Plan speaking and interactive engagements to share organizational information and build market relationships.
  • Develop and maintain a database of referring and prospective referring contacts with accurate professional and practice information.
  • Identify new providers and initiate plans to establish relationships between new physicians and referring providers.
  • Document contacts, tactics, concerns, and needs in the database for monthly reporting.
  • Share provider concerns with attending physicians or hospital and clinical leadership, initiate service recovery within 24 hours, and follow up with the referring physician.
  • Review quarterly reports with the Director and Business Development team to evaluate sales planning and strategy effectiveness.
