Grammarly is excited to offer a remote-first hybrid working model. Grammarly team members in this role must be based in the United States, and, depending on business needs, they must meet in person for collaboration weeks, traveling if necessary to the hub(s) where their team is based.

The Opportunity 

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Senior People Business Partner to join our People team to support our Engineering, Product, and Design teams. Our People Business Partners provide strategic business partnerships and coaching and develop people-related solutions to meet critical business needs. This is a hands-on role — People Business Partners understand our business, goals, EAGER values, and culture to develop, implement, and continually improve solutions that positively shape the Grammarly team member experience. 

Our team of People Business Partners plays a crucial role in collaborating with leaders to provide people-related programs and solutions, coaching our management team, and shaping the experience of our team members across offices. This position will closely collaborate with a team of People Business Partners and key Engineering, Product, and Design leaders across our global offices. We’re looking for someone passionate about building for the future, who thinks strategically, and who will flourish in a collaborative, high-growth environment.

• Within your first 30 days, you will onboard and dive into Grammarly’s current People philosophies, practices, and processes.
• By month three, you will take over partnership and coaching of the functions and departments you are the People Business Partner for including parts of Engineering, Product, and Design.
• By month six, you will build our management team’s capacity through coaching and influencing. 
• By month nine, you will meaningfully contribute to the strategy of the teams you support and to the direction of the People Business Partner team.
• Beyond your first year, you will foster excellence in the support, motivation, retention, and growth of our talent. 
• As Grammarly grows, this role will have growth opportunities on a path supporting either our Engineering or Product/Design functions. 

Qualifications

• Applies knowledge of business and of various functions, departments, and talent to advance people-related strategies and programs. 
• Brings 10+ years of experience in a Partner Business Partner function, ideally with International/European experience. 
• Demonstrates outstanding judgment and makes consistent good decisions for the company and our team members.
• Has been an effective partner and coach to senior-level leadership. 
• Is intrigued by the unique qualities of people and has a gift for figuring out how different people can work together productively.  
• Knows firsthand the challenges of a growth stage company and anticipates scaling problems and is adaptable and curious.
• Communicates clearly and empathetically both face-to-face and in writing.
• Has specific experience in organization design, learning and development, change management, and diversity and inclusion (nice to have).
• Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
• Is inspired by our MOVE principles, which are the blueprint for how things get done at Grammarly: move fast and learn faster, obsess about creating customer value, value impact over activity, and embrace healthy disagreement rooted in trust.
• Is able to meet in person for their team’s scheduled collaboration weeks, traveling if necessary to the hub where their team is based.

Grammarly takes a market-based approach to compensation, which means base pay may vary depending on your location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations.

Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined below by compensation zone and may be modified in the future.
