Organization's Summary Statement:
The University Senate seeks a Coordinator, someone with a gift for organization and a passion for the University's mission. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who believes in shared governance and who wants to have an impact on the future of the University. Senate Coordinators are key members of the Senate Office team with responsibility for oversight of several University Senate committees, coordinating the Senate elections, its committee volunteer processes, and planning monthly Senate meetings. The Coordinator will advise committee chairs and members on how to address committee charges, revise University policy documents, and develop recommendations in alignment with the committee's purview. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to ensure that the committees understand Senate processes and timelines and follow the provisions of the University's Plan of Organization for Shared Governance, the Senate Bylaws, and Robert's Rules of Order. The Coordinator will also play a role in shaping the Senate’s membership through related administrative and engagement activities. This position does not have direct staff supervision but may have the opportunity to schedule, train, and supervise student interns and/or student workers.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One (1) year of professional administrative or coordinator experience.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Knowledge of best practices in organization, administration, and customer service.
Knowledge of proper protocol in dealing with confidential information.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.)
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service.
