We are looking for a Sr. Firmware Engineer to join us as we build cutting-edge technology solutions! This is your opportunity to be part of a team that is committed to delivering best in class service to our customers.
In this role you will be an integral part of a collaborative team that works on a high-impact project involving the development and enhancement of firmware for market-leading devices and accessories. You will play a key role in debugging and coding, with 50% of your time dedicated to debugging and 35% to coding. Your work will directly influence product release cycles, providing you with immediate visibility and impact. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge hardware technology and grow in an environment that fosters continuous learning and development. You’ll interact closely with product managers and fellow developers to ensure software meets the highest standards of quality and functionality.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain firmware for a variety of sophisticated software projects.
- Gather and analyze system requirements, documenting specifications and developing solutions to meet client needs.
- Analyze enhancement requests and specifications, ensuring alignment with software requirements.
- Implement and customize system software to client specifications.
- Prepare detailed software specifications and test plans, ensuring clear and actionable documentation.
- Code new programs to client specifications, ensuring high-quality, functional software.
- Modify existing programs to meet new standards and conduct unit testing of developed software.
- Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation.
- Perform post-implementation validation, troubleshooting bugs identified during testing and resolving issues promptly.
- Provide quality assurance reviews to ensure software meets performance and functionality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of overall experience, with at least 3 years of embedded firmware development experience.
- Strong expertise in C programming, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Proficiency with Git source control system, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Solid experience working with bus protocols (e.g., USB, I2C, or SDIO), with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Strong debugging skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Experience in real-time operating systems.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A deep understanding of firmware design and real-time systems.
- Experience in large-scale systems software design and development.
- Expertise in problem diagnosis and resolution, especially within production environments.
- Demonstrated ability to handle both new and legacy systems, performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing.
- Experience in using debugging tools and systems for efficient problem-solving.
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $135,000 to $145,000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
