The Sr. Program Manager responsibilities include overseeing, planning and delivering of company programs or initiatives, ensuring every project on time and within budget as projected. The overall responsibilities include managing overall direction of programs from concept to completion of factory production release. Sr. Program Managers will lead other teams and other Project Managers by training and assisting them with best practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage technical programs and projects having a defined beginning and end
- Plan, coordinate and monitor scope, requirements, schedules, budgets, resources, tasks, risks, staff, and deliverables for multiple projects.
- Organize and leads activities relating to the management and completion of program and projects
- Apply advanced business process and analysis concepts and organizational objectives to resolve highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors
- Ensure that all projects within the program are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques
- Manage a relationship with the client and all stakeholders during a product development cycle
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Coordinating manufacturing processes and deliverables to ensure quality in the product
- Help define company best practices as we learn from each other and each project.
- Help bring new customer requirements, general market requested updates and new product enhancements to existing products by working directly with Engineering teams and guiding the teams to production.
- Communicating with customers and doing independent research, develop a good understanding of the customer’s needs, new technologies, trends in the market, and competitors to demonstrate industry expertise.
- Develop requirements documents, functional specifications, and mockups to clearly illustrate product ideas and concepts when needed.
- Participates in all phases of the product development life cycle, including analysis, design, testing, and integration of products as well as the introduction of products to the market. Is a member of a cross functional team that translates customer needs and technology directions into product definitions.
- May participate in the creation of documentation or user guides for new products. Typically reports to a manger to head of a department. Occasionally in several aspects of the work.
- Manages the relationship between development team and the factories.
- Understand certification requirements to properly coordinate testing and certification with various agencies.
- Support sustaining developments and changes to programs and projects
Qualifications
- 7+ years of project management experience
- Experience leading and training other Project Managers
- Experience working with international teams to unify projects globally
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with ability to learn to work easily on other platforms
Education
- BS/BA degree a must, technical degree a plus
