Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in the electrical distribution industry or a related field.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Intermediate or advanced computer skills, specifically using Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, blueprints, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to develop and present specialized instruction concerning high-tech equipment in the assigned area.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequent movement, computer operation, occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds, and use of ladders or warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to travel to offsite locations frequently.
Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed sales goals for the assigned technology offering.
  • Lead and support sales efforts involving key targets, customers, and opportunities in the assigned product area or region.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers through on-site visits, phone, and email, including troubleshooting products, locating technical documentation and specifications, and supporting product selection.
  • Establish relationships with sales teams and customers to understand sales potential and customer needs.
  • Work with sales teams to establish joint strategies and activities.
  • Provide product expertise to Sales and Branch teams to facilitate quoting, order entry, and order expediting.
  • Create and present technical and commercial training for internal and external customers.
  • Describe or demonstrate products to customers.
  • Acquire, use, and continuously develop technical knowledge.
  • Provide oral or written quotations, proposals, or estimates covering prices, scope of work, terms, and delivery.
  • Work with prospective customers to move projects through the sales cycle to conclusion.
  • Prepare for sales calls and customer events.
  • Work with Purchasing to maintain proper inventory of high-tech products and identify potential obsolescence problems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
