Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least three years of maintenance, facilities, or related experience is required.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is required.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and technology is required.
  • Ability to work day shifts with flexibility for evenings, weekends, or other hours as business needs require is required.
  • Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to the Dayton, Ohio area is required.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license is required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or pull heavy objects and lift or carry 25–100 pounds is required.
  • Ability to work nights as needed, stand for long periods, walk extended distances, kneel or stoop repeatedly, distinguish colors, and work outdoors or in difficult weather conditions is required.
  • Ability to work around fumes, airborne particles, and potentially toxic or caustic chemicals is required.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise all engineering and maintenance activities to ensure high-quality workmanship and productivity.
  • Establish schedules for and oversee preventive maintenance activities.
  • Supervise work-list initiation, task prioritization, and work assignments to ensure timely and efficient completion of operations.
  • Assist in establishing and implementing life-safety and emergency procedures and training, execute emergency procedures, and comply with safety regulations.
  • Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work as required by company policy or law.
  • Coordinate inspection and certification of life-safety systems and equipment as required by local ordinance.
  • Verify that work is performed safely and efficiently and meets quality standards.
  • Perform periodic walkthrough and visual inspections of property assets to assess condition, establish maintenance priorities, and identify improvement needs.
  • Coordinate and monitor energy consumption and rates to optimize operating cost and efficiency.
  • Compile future project and priority lists for leadership review and approval.
  • Coordinate preparation of the annual Americans with Disabilities Act compliance checklist.
  • Maintain communication with departments to ensure timely responses to operational needs and keep them informed of maintenance operations affecting their work.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and condition of equipment and work areas.
  • Establish effective training procedures and ensure department personnel are properly trained.
  • Interview, hire, train, plan, assign, and direct employees' work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints; and resolve problems.
  • Coach, counsel, and retrain personnel as needed to ensure acceptable performance.
  • Comply with hotel standards, policies, rules, safety requirements, and recycling standards, and remain current with hotel information and changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • HVAC, electrical, or plumbing technical licenses or certifications are preferred.
  • Previous hospitality industry experience is preferred.
