Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Current PE in electrical engineering in the United States required
  • LEED accreditation preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to Interface effectively with clients and members of the design team
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects
  • Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools) required
Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical engineering systems design for building construction
  • Oversee, guide, mentor, and provide technical leadership to designers and engineering team
  • Participate or lead project teamwork planning sessions
  • Serve as project manager or project engineering leader and lead engineering meetings
  • Design lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and/or telecommunication systems for healthcare, education/higher education, and commercial clients per applicable codes
  • Prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications
  • Complete quality control checks of engineering documents
  • Work with the Project Manager to establish and maintain realistic work and labor plans and deliverable schedules
  • Participate or lead value engineering sessions with Architectural/Engineering team
  • Interface effectively with clients and members of the design team
  • Recommend improvements with reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and streamline production efforts
  • Review and markup of shop drawings and submittals
  • Respond to RFI’s and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents
  • Responsible for projects' construction administration
  • Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress
  • Attend and participate in construction meetings
  • Apply knowledge of electrical and building codes in building systems design
  • Perform other related tasks as needed
